Choose a task or a sale

Choose the right way to change prices permanently, run a promotion, or include new products in an ongoing sale.

Use a task for a one-time price change that should stay. Use a sale for a promotion whose prices should return to their previous values when it ends.

Bulk Price Editor changes prices directly in Shopify. It does not create discount codes or automatic checkout discounts, and there is nothing to install in your theme.

Tasks start when you create them

A task starts processing after you create it. You cannot schedule a task to begin later. Its changes remain until you change the prices again or roll the task back.

A task uses the products selected when it runs. New products added to its collection later do not automatically receive that task's changes. Automatically re-applying a task does not turn it into a rule for new products.

Sales can start now or later

A sale can start now, or at a future date on Basic or higher. Set an end date if you want the app to restore the recorded pre-sale prices automatically. With no end date, the sale continues until you disable it.

Sale times use your store's Shopify timezone. Repeating schedules, such as every weekend or every night, are not supported.

A sale that stays active indefinitely still behaves as a sale: disabling it restores its recorded prices, and overlapping promotions can conflict. Use a task when you want a permanent change.

Show a crossed-out price

For a sale that displays the previous price, choose Set to old price (discount) under Compare at price. A higher compare-at price lets your theme display the crossed-out price. The theme controls the badge and styling.

Shopify discount codes can still apply on top of prices changed by the app. Creating a Bulk Price Editor sale does not disable those codes.

Before changing a large selection, test your first price change.
